A Student Art Reception will be held in the Waterfront Gallery of the Erickson Center for the Arts to celebrate the artistic work of local students. Refreshments will be served. This showcase of student artwork at the Erickson Center for the Arts in Curtis, Michigan will include work from Tahquamenon Area Schools, Three Lakes Academy, Engadine Consolidated Schools, and local home-schooled students. The purpose of the show is to demonstrate that art is an essential part of a child’s education. The Student Art Show is an annual event at the Erickson Center, celebrating the imagination and creativity of area students. The art instructors include Casey Hinkson at Tahquamenon Area Schools, Tawnya Mills at Three Lakes Academy, Jessica Schultz at Engadine Consolidated Schools, and Amelia Duberville teaching home-schooled students. The Student Art Show can be seen during regular business hours, 10:00 am — 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The show runs from January 25 to May 13, 2016. It is free and open to the public

Enjoy winter at the Upper Falls by taking a guided snowshoe hike with the park naturalist at 2 pm. Stick around to enjoy the 1-mile lantern lit trail from 6-8:30 pm. Free snowshoe rental, bonfire and refreshments.
All activities are free, but a Recreation Passport is required for entry. Purchase your Recreation Passport at the park entrance or at the Secretary of State when you renew your vehicle tabs.
