Experience a soul- stirring classical music performance featuring expert Steinway pianist Dr. Sergio Ruiz, accompanied by artists Dr. Naomi Gjevre and Dr. Javier Pinell.
International Steinway artist Sergio H. Ruiz has delighted audiences throughout the world. In demand as an adjudicator, lecturer, and master teacher, Dr. Ruiz balances his performance calendar with being a dedicated teacher. Dr. Ruiz is currently the Director of the Glenn Korff School of Music and Professor of Music at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Naomi Gjevre serves on the faculty at Sam Houston State University where she teaches violin, chamber music, string pedagogy, and string methods. Dr. Gjevre has had a varied career as a performer, scholar, and pedagogue.
Javier Pinell is Associate Professor of Violin and chairperson of the String Studies Area at Sam Houston State University. With a broad teaching experience he also served on the violin faculty at the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan for eleven summers. Among Dr. Pinell's students are winners and finalists in prestigious concerto competitions including the Interlochen Concerto Competition, The National Young Artists Competition (Texas), and the Dorothy Jacoby Concerto Competition (Wyoming).

Michigan’s own David Dyer returns to the ECA for a night of comedy. David has worked with some of the best performers in the industry, including Drew Carey, Lewis Black and Kathleen Madigan. In addition, he’s appeared regularly on the nationally syndicated “The Bob and Tom Show”. Comedian Jimmy Roberson opens. Doors at 7:00 p.m. Show rated PG-13. Advanced reserved tickets $15. Remaining tickets will be sold at the door.

Art Appreciation Class with Linda Tucker

On Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday from 10 Jul. 2017 to 14 Jul. 2017.

In this week-long class, participants will have the opportunity to explore watercolor, oil-pastels, and acrylic mediums through various Master's techniques. Each class will feature a different artist and their particular style.
Classes will be held at the Erickson Center for the Arts. Those interested may sign up for all five classes or for one or more individual classes. Class Fees: $125/ person for all 5 days or $30 / person for 1 day (Supplies Included). Don’t miss this fantastic ability to foster the artist in you!
