Song Writers Group

Every Last Monday from 30 Jan. 2017 to 29 May. 2017.

There will be a "Songwriter's Group" held the last Monday of every month through May 2017. Songwriters, musicians and music lovers alike will meet for an informal gathering at the ECA. All are welcome! Join in as guests of the group share song ideas, play guitar and other instruments, sing and just enjoy the company of other music enthusiasts. Free of charge. Meeting will be held in the lower level of the ECA building. There will be no meeting in December, next meeting is scheduled for January 30th. Erickson Center 3rd Annual Student Art Show

On Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday from 6 Feb. 2017 to 31 Mar. 2017.

This showcase contains a large variety of artwork provided by students of all ages from Tahquamenon Area Schools, Three Lakes Academy, Engadine Consolidated Schools, and local home-schooling programs. Patrons will be given a chance to vote for the "People's Choice Award" presented to one student from each of the schools at the end of the exhibit. Free to the public.

Colorful Clay Plate Art Class

Make not one, but TWO of your own functional clay plates to decorate and take home. Artist Tina Doorn will show participants the “slump mold’ and “slip decorating” techniques while they create and paint two pieces of beautiful, usable art.
Tina is also offering the participants of her class to come into her studio and observe the final glazing and kiln loading procedure with their plates! Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to get a behind the scenes look into her studio.
$60/person all supplies included
**This class is limited to 8 students. Adults only please. Class will be held in the lower level of the Erickson Center. However, if no more than 4 people sign up, the class will be held in Tina’s studio. **

35th Woodhhoppers Ball

The 35th Woodchoppers Ball will be held at the American Legion Hall in Newberry. From 5pm-7pm (Dance following at 7:00pm) there will be a Roast Beef & Pork Dinner with hot veggies, salad, dessert & beverage. Dinner and dance tickets are $12.00 and must be purchased by March 10th.
