Music In the Park

The Erickson Center for the Arts will be kicking off their “Music in the Park” series with” Open Mic Night” featuring John Latini, on Wednesday, June 15th from in the band shelter in the ECA Park. This free, outdoor music event will be held every Wednesday night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. through August 10th. Donations accepted. Picnic dinners are welcome, please bring a chair or blanket to sit on. In the event of inclement weather,” Music in the Park” will be moved indoors to the Erickson Center.

Songwriters' Weekend

The Erickson Center for the Arts presents their 9th Annual Above the Bridge Songwriters' Weekend(s) in two sessions over the course of two consecutive weekends in June.
Weekend Session 1 - Director John Latini is joined by participant favorite Jamie-Sue Seal, along with returning staffer Jan Krist and newcomers Josh Rose, Dan Hall, and Kitty Donohoe.
Weekend Session 2 - ATB veterans Janmie-Sue Seal, Jo Serraperre and Dave Boutette, along with director John Latini, are joined by Dana Cooper and Mike Latini
These weekends are offered to songwriters, musicians and music lovers alike.

Cooking Class for kids

4-H Iron Chef Challenge will be a weekly class held at the LINK. Please register by June 1st and must be done online through Firefox or Chrome. If you are not a 4-H participant yet, you can sign up for 4-H for $10 which is for the year and participate in the class.

Seney Wildlife Refuge Kids Free Fishing Day

Seney, Michigan - The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, in cooperation with the Seney Natural History Association, invites you to participate in the 27th annual Children’s Fishing Day Saturday, June 25th at Seney National Wildlife Refuge.
Anglers age 1-16 should register at the Visitor Center before fishing. The registration table will open at 9:00 a.m. Fish entries will be accepted between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the Visitor Center. Fishing with non-lead tackle is allowed from the shore along the Fishing Loop, Show Pools, at C-3 Pool, and in designated rivers. Fishing stations will be set up along the Refuge’s Fishing Loop. A limited amount of fishing poles and bait are available for participants to use at these stations. Activities and games for the whole family begin at 12:00 p.m. at the Visitor Center including arts, crafts, games, and more. Certificates will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners for largest perch and pike in four age categories. Prizes, provided by local businesses, will be awarded by random drawing. A complimentary fish dinner for all participants and their families will be held at 3:00 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony.

Comedy comes to Curtis! This premier comedy event at the ECA features comedian Steve Iott. He is an embattled veteran comic who has seen it all, and has plenty to say about it. A master of improvisation, Steve takes the audience along as he spins his tales of ridiculous life experiences. No topic is safe, and no two shows are ever the same.
