Women's Support Group, 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, 4:00pm in the small courtroom of the Luce County Court House, and is hosted by the Diane Peppler Resource Center. Great Lakes Recovery Center provides Peer Support Services in the Newberry area. Peer Support focuses on providing an environment where people from the community, who are living in recovery, work with people who are currently receiving treatment for a substance abuse disorder. These Community based Peer Recovery Specialists serve as a resource and support system for others who are currently in treatment and who are living in recovery. "Free Community Fellowship Meal" The Free Community Fellowship Meal will be served from 5:00-6:30pm at the Newberry First Presbyterian Church 113 West John Street on the third Thursday of each month. In addition to the meal there will also be activities for kids. Everyone is welcome to join for the meal, however no meals will be served to go. The Tahquamenon Area Recreation Authority has broken ground on the Tahquamenon Outdoor Recreation Complex (TORC)! Now they need local help and are asking for people to sponsor a panel of synthetic ice for $200 per panel, which is then MATCHED through a pending state grant with an additional $200.
